For the second year in a row, YouNews will be running a summertime “Post Your Pet” Contest. Here’s how it works:

NATIONAL: Starting July 12, website visitors can upload videos or photos for a chance to win *$100 in Toys & Treats. Once the contest closes on Aug. 9, our editors will search across all YouNews affiliates and determine the top submission in each of the following categories:

- Ugliest Pet
- Cutest Pet
- Most Unique Pet
- Best Pet Trick (video)
- Best "Pet Name" Story (how/why pet was named)

LOCAL: YouNews affiliates have the opportunity to sell a local sponsorship for the Post Your Pet contest. Sponsors will be listed on the YouNews contest page with text and logo, and there is also the ability to provide a local tier of prizing. Please see the attached example. Categories to approach include:

- Vets, groomers, trainers
- Pet boarding, doggie daycare
- Pet friendly restaurants
- Hotels that accept pets
- Invisible fence or regular fencing companies
- Pet photographers
