Smith Media Renews Partnership With BIM
Customers Thanked With Cost Reductions, Webinars

MADISON, WI - October 20, 2009 - Broadcast Interactive Media (BIM), the recognized leader in online revenue and technology solutions for local media websites, announced today that it has signed a multi-year contract extension with existing client, Smith Media. Under the agreement, BIM will continue to provide a full spectrum of website services to KEYT in Santa Barbara, CA, WKTV in Utica, NY and KIMO, in Anchorage, AK.

The Smith stations will utilize BIM products including the BIMVID™ video capture, editing, transcoding and storage system and plan to launch several BIM local revenue programs. WKTV and KEYT will continue to feature BIM’s social media platform, YouNews™ which allows members of the community to upload videos and photos of local news, weather and sports.

As a thank you to long-term and renewing clients such as Smith Media, effective January 2010, BIM will offer cost reductions to many local media partners.

BIM CEO, Timur Yarnall stated, “Many companies say they value their customers. BIM is actually demonstrating this sentiment by offering significant decreases in bandwidth costs, video storage and other website costs. Reductions will be extended to those groups or stations who have stuck with us during these challenging economic times, and who’ve committed to staying on the BIM platform. BIM could not have grown over the past years without these loyal clients such as Smith Media.”

Ian Guthrie, CFO of Smith Media adds, “It’s rare to find a company that not only provides great service and drives revenue, but also aggressively looks for ways to save its customers money. BIM understands that local media needs to trim expense and grow interactive revenues, and we certainly appreciate this unexpected boost to our bottom line as part of our renewal”.

BIM will continue its “customer appreciation” ideology with a series of free Webinars, held in conjunction with research and television data firm, Frank N. Magid & Associates. A “Top User Engagement Strategies” Webinar was held on October 8, and a second BIM/Magid presentation is slated for February, 2010.
