BIM launches HQ video upgrades for video CMS clients

MADISON, WI – December 4, 2012 – Broadcast Interactive Media (BIM), the leading provider of ad optimization and data services platforms for web and mobile publishers, today announced major enhancements to its BIMvid video content management system. The addition of High Quality (HQ) enabled streaming for cross-platform delivery and automated conversion of broadcast closed captions for display of stored online video are immediately available to current and prospective BIM partners.

HQ video is now live on multiple BIM client websites, including www.wfaa.com in Dallas.

BIMvid Video Capture gives broadcasters full control to determine which of their stored online videos need closed captions. The process of generating a closed caption file is simple, time-saving, and eliminates any work stations might otherwise have to do to manually prepare caption files.

BIMvid records and converts broadcast caption data direct from SD- and HD-SDI video signals, makes the data available for editing online, and converts the captions during the transcoding process to be embedded in .mp4 files and output in separate sidecar files such as DFXP/SMPTE-TT, which the Federal Communications Commission has identified as a “safe harbor” format.

“We’ve taken all the pain out of producing closed captions for stored online video,” says Timur Yarnall, CEO of Broadcast Interactive Media. “Clients using our end-to-end BIMvid solution are also comforted knowing they have a video player and management system that will make captions readily available, with customizable display settings, to end users.”
