BIMvid Live offers live stream closed captioning for broadcasters

MADISON, WI – February 19, 2013 – Broadcast Interactive Media (BIM), the leading provider of ad optimization and data services platforms for web and mobile publishers, today announced the launch of BIMvid Live, an HTTP live streaming service that automates conversion of broadcast closed captions for live streams. BIMvid Live is immediately available to both current and prospective BIM partners.

On the heels of BIM's December announcement of automated closed caption support for on-demand video clips, clients using BIMvid solutions can now deliver captions with online videos for both live and on-demand video content, helping broadcasters meet FCC regulations.

BIMvid Live converts broadcast caption data direct from HD-SDI video signals during the encoding process and embeds the data in HLS streams that are accessible from any device.
“We’ve taken all the pain out of producing closed captions for online video,” says Timur Yarnall, CEO of Broadcast Interactive Media. “Clients using our end-to-end BIMvid solution are also comforted knowing they have a video player and management system that will make captions readily available to end users on desktop and mobile environments.”
