New York, NY, September 9, 2005– Broadcast Interactive Media has launched three new TV station sites for Schurz Communications, Inc., including WAGT NBC Augusta, www.wagt.com, WSBT CBS South Bend, www.wsbt.com, and KY3 NBC Springfield, www.ky3.com. This launch demonstrates Broadcast Interactive’s continued commitment to supporting local TV Broadcasters in their efforts to reach local audiences and generate revenue through station websites.
“Broadcast Interactive helped turn our site into a profit center almost immediately after site launch, despite the fact that WAGT had virtually no prior web presence,” said WAGT General Manager John Mann. “We evaluated all available vendors and clearly felt that Broadcast Interactive provided the most flexible and cost-effective solution. Most importantly, WAGT has generated well over $200,000 in new local revenue since site launch.”
“We are excited to provide website and revenue solutions to Schurz Communications,” said Broadcast Interactive President and CEO Timur Yarnall. “KY3, WSBT, and WAGT have all built very strong local brands and offer great public service in their respective communities, and we are very pleased to be working with Broadcasters who are determined to continue building viewer relationships by delivering their news and entertainment content via the Web.”
Broadcast Interactive supports a variety of websites and sales promotions for over 60 TV and radio stations. These sites promote station programming and news through locally focused contests, giveaways and events. To supplement the stations’ local promotional content, Broadcast Interactive provides content covering music, movies, health and beauty, as well as video streaming from the networks’ promotional archives and local newscasts.
“KY3 is pleased with the new look and video-centric design of our site,” said KY3 President and General Manager Mike Scott. “Broadcast Interactive offered us the flexibility to build a site based on the needs of our station staff and viewers, rather than forcing us to work inside a pre-determined design. We are also very excited to take advantage of the Sales Programs that come with Broadcast Interactive’s services.”
