Fisher Communications Launches Thirteen Local TV and Radio Websites with Broadcast Interactive Media
Seattle, WA, October 30, 2006 – Fisher Communications announced the development of thirteen new TV and radio station websites across the Pacific Northwest, increasing the number of local media sites supported by Broadcast Interactive to over 95.
The sites will support audience and revenue growth for each of the Fisher stations in Seattle, Yakima, Pasco-Kennewick (Washington), Portland, Eugene, Coos Bay, Roseburg (Oregon), and Boise, Idaho Falls, Lewiston (Idaho). Sites in Portland (www.katu.com), Eugene (www.kval.com), and Seattle (www.komotv.com) are currently live, with the other Fisher markets to follow shortly.
“Broadcast Interactive Media gave us the flexibility in design and speed to launch our websites quickly and with a unique look and feel. Our goal is to make Fisher Interactive a dominant force in our markets,” said Rob Dunlop, VP Developing Media at Fisher. “BIM’s superior technology, support and sales strategies made them the right choice for us. We’ve already generated nearly $400,000 in new local revenue in just a few months.”
The Fisher sites feature several enhancements for local media websites, including Flash-based video streaming, streamlined local classifieds, local search optimization, and user-submitted content areas to drive traffic growth.
“We are extremely pleased to partner with Fisher Communications to develop local portals in all of their Pacific Northwest markets,” said Timur Yarnall, CEO of Broadcast Interactive Media. “We are now in 95 markets nationwide and will be in over 120 by mid-2007 as we continue to build out the premier local interactive advertising network.”
