New York, NY April 14, 2008 – Broadcast Interactive Media, the leader in locally-focused interactive solutions for more than 120 local TV and radio broadcasters, today announced the availability of YouNewsTV™ for on-air distribution in local markets. The show will be produced on a weekly-episodic basis and will complement the online rollout of YouNews™ that is already live in over 50 markets. The 30 minute magazine and clip styled program will be available for on-air distribution beginning in September, 2008.

YouNewsTV currently boasts over 50,000 active, registered submitters and is growing at a rate of over 10% per month in terms of content submissions and user registrations, making it one of the fastest growing locally-focused social networks. YouNews™ is driving significant new traffic and revenue to groups such as Granite Television, Fisher Communications, Schurz Communications, Meredith Broadcasting, and Hoak Media.

According to Timur Yarnall, BIM CEO, "Our YouNewsTV affiliates already have in place a great UGC solution and national “content exchange” with their ability to use YouNews™ from across the country on their station websites along with their locally-submitted photos and videos. Producing and syndicating this programming provides the additional content distribution mandated by the growing influence of UGC, and gives stations a turn-key way to produce more local programming. Most importantly, it gives our clients a great way to compete against the large national portals that are currently receiving the bulk of online ad spending, by leveraging the advantages that local TV does have – fantastic local brand recognition alongside trusted local sales teams."

Brian McCarthy, Revver.com VP Business Development, adds "This is a groundbreaking application of UGC. Our Revver submitters will see their photos and videos online as well as on-air - that is an incredibly powerful combination and incentive for them to submit."

Kelly Manning, KSFY TV General Manager, adds "We're excited to debut the YouNewsTV show here at KSFY. We've had unprecedented success securing local sponsorship of YouNews online, have driven strong additional traffic to our website by incorporating UGC into our newscasts, and have seen a tremendous increase in user participation on KSFY.com. We are very pleased that we'll be able to offer the on-air sponsorship as well."

The show will follow the ‘local branded entertainment’ model of past magazine-driven shows, and will give stations the flexibility to insert their own hosts and clips from their local, regional, and group-owned markets. Other leading UGC portals such as Revver.com will also be making available clips for the YouNewsTV show, to complement the great citizen-journalist content that’s already being provided to BIM stations.

"YouNewsTV is an important asset for KBWB, both for citizen journalism and in expanding our programming capabilities. As we strive to become more interactive with viewers in the Bay Area, we're excited about partnering with YouNews TV to create a program which will feature content generated by viewers themselves. It's definitely the next wave in local television." explains KBWB President and GM, Craig Coane.
