October 2, 2008, MADISON WI –Indian Country Today (ICT), an
award-winning multimedia publisher of news, information, and imagery
relevant to the Indigenous people of the Americas, announces their
website launch on the Broadcast Interactive Media (BIM) platform. ICT
is a division of Four Directions Media. BIM is the leading web
solutions partner for local media groups including Fisher
Communications, Journal Broadcasting, Granite Broadcasting and others.
According to Peter Golia, Four Directions Media Senior VP, “ICT was
the first Native news publisher to go digital, expanding the reach of
our weekly newspaper and quarterly magazines with our web presence.
We knew we needed to push the envelope to stay competitive, and that’s
where BIM was the perfect technology partner for us. We now have
state-of-the-art web publishing tools, an active
user-generated-content platform, and the local and national revenue
opportunities to monetize the site. Moreover, we experienced a
seamless transition from our previous content management system with
zero loss of archives and other intellectual property.”
Richard Sullivan, BIM VP of Strategy, adds, “BIM was equally thrilled
to partner with ICT. We’ve traditionally worked with local broadcast,
TV and Radio, and it’s tremendously gratifying to see our platform
supporting the diverse needs of all of local media. It’s an honor to
help steward important brands such as ICT, and a privilege working
with the forward-thinking team at ICT.”
