MADISON WI - June 17, 2009, - Broadcast Interactive Media (BIM), the leading provider of locally-focused advertising and content solutions for more than 160 television, radio and newspaper websites today announced new partnerships with broadcast outlets in Macon, GA (WGXA,
www.fox24.com) and Watertown, NY (WWNY,
www.wwnytv.com). Both stations have launched websites on the BIM platform, providing access to state-of-the-art web publishing tools as well as immediate revenue opportunities that, so far, have generated over $170,000 in annual revenue across the two markets.
WGXA has served the Macon area for over 25 years, airing middle Georgia's only primetime newscast, FOX 24 News at 10. The Fox24.com website launched on the BIM platform in early April, and boasts several new features including a Healthy Living portal. And starting this week, members of the community will be able to upload videos and photos of local news, weather, sports and more with the addition of YouNews™.
WGXA General Manager, Keith True stated, “The BIM revenue programs have provided an excellent opportunity for us to attract new business. We’ve already sold several packages, with a good number of potential clients also in the pipeline.”
WWNY, a CBS affiliate, has been an icon in the Watertown market for over 50 years, with sister station WNYF Fox 28 joining the family in 2001. Both stations share a common website,
www.wwnytv.com, which launched on the BIM platform in early March. The site has a number of special features, including an online Obituaries section, YouNews™, and a “North Country Home” improvement and experts section.
WWNY General Manager, Cathy Pircsuk reports, “Watertown has had immediate success with our new, enhanced website through Broadcast Interactive Media. Not only do we have more local businesses advertising with us now…we also have locked in several sponsors for our YouNews site in the first month and two sponsors for our North Country Home with several potential prospects. We are selling these without a broadcast schedule for YouNews sponsorship – so this is true Web revenue -- and in a similar manner for North Country Home sponsorship.”
Broadcast Interactive VP Sales, Richard Sullivan adds, “BIM is thrilled to expand into the Macon and Watertown markets and to see their success with YouNews and Healthy Living. We have a number of exciting local and national strategies to bring to the table and look forward to partnering with WWNY, WGXA and all our clients on new exclusive partnership, revenue and content opportunities.”
